Give a little more….LOVE

November 30th, 2010 § 0

As soon as I put together this outfit I fell in love and that’s the dangerous part stumbling around at net-a-porter looking for inspiration… If it wasn’t for the snow outside and if I had a magic wand I would have been happy finding this outfit in my wardrobe :-) Imagine Notify‘s black leather moto-style pants with the delicate and feminine light-pink silk blouse from Stella McCartney, with a pair of nude suede platform Louboutin sandals, a ring from Aurélie Bidermann that has been hand dipped in blackened silver, a classic black matelassé leather bag from MIU MIU and lot’s of doses of LOVE Chloé…a romantic and edgy outfit ;-)

Bois d’argent – La Collection, Christian Dior

November 29th, 2010 § 1

Christian Dior

The Bois d’argent -fragrance from Christian Dior’s latest collection with scent of Absolute of Iris from Florence and woody heart notes is a complete bless to all your senses! It comes in a bottle of 450 ml, yes you read it right..you can just indulge youself without getting worried finishing it!! It can be yours for €330…ok, maybe not something you buy when you’re on the run..but if you have a boyfriend just tell him he need a new fragrance (it’s a unisex fragrance!)  and look innocent when he wonders when the bottle is empty. For me, I’m just going to wish that Santa Claus have noticed I’ve been a good girl this year :-)

My favourite is the Bois d’argent but there are nine other fragrances in the exclusive unisex-line from Christian Dior’s latest collection, La Collection.

Dinner @ Ralph Lauren

November 28th, 2010 § 3

Ralph Lauren's flagship store in Paris, 173 Boulevard Saint Germain

Last week I went for dinner at Ralph Lauren’s restaurant in Saint Germain. I had grilled jumbo shrimps as a starter and seared ranch steak. The jumbo shrimps were delicious but the steak…well, it turned out to be a way too big of a portion for little me :-( I’m not a big fan of American food and totally not in meat so I really don’t know how come I ordered meat…. the steak was eat-able…. Ok, I have to admit it…. the REAL reason why I chose Ralph Lauren‘s restaurant for dinner was simply because I had an urge for their cheesecake!!! And YES it was worth the steak that I barely touched…..because the moment I had with my piece of cheesecake was just…..heavenly ;-)

I’ve never tried their brunch that they have on Sunday’s, but I would love to go there during the Spring and try it sitting outside in their beautiful courtyard :-)

Qui es-tu Peter?

November 27th, 2010 § 2

Louis Vuitton

Last week I stopped by Louis Vuitton‘s flagshipstore at Champ’s Elysée. But I didn’t step in through the regular entrance, instead I went to the back of the building at 60 Rue de Bassano and took the dark elevator with no lighting to the last floor just to step into the on-going exhibition “Qui es-tu Peter?” (Who are you Peter?). It was definately not the way Disney presented this child who-never-wanted-to-grow-up in the Disney cartoon years ago. This exhibition that was made by 13 artists showed the darker side of being Peter Pan, the fear and anguish of a childhood.

The installation that touched me the most was Melonie Foster Hennessy‘s “Qui a le temps de grandir?????? (Who has time to grow up???) It was a 4-d installation where you could take part of a conversation between Peter Pan and Wendy. Peter Pan, still a child who refused to grow up and who had chosen eternity and Wendy that had grown older and now was a married woman. The meeting/conversation between Peter and Wendy is a bit tense, the time is ticking, while Peter still doesn’t change when it comes to aging Wendy is getting older and older until she explodes into stardust with the ending line:“Dying would be an awfully big adventure”. Wendy became a star, and a star is how children transform their loved-ones that are dead….

Address & date: Oct 1st-January 9th 2011 @ Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton 60 Rue de Bassano (in the corner of 101 avenue des Champs-Élysées)

“There is always beauty in mystery”

November 24th, 2010 § 3

Ladurée, 21 rue Bonaparte, Paris

At the intersection of Rue Bonaparte and Rue Jacob you’ll find the place where I used to work and practice my French during my studies at Sorbonne, a place where I have endulged myself with macarons, Marie Antoinette’s, St-Honoré’s, a place where I met Jane Birkin, the supermodel Karolina Kurkova, a place where I used to prepare boxes filled with macarons for clients such as Christian Louboutin, a place where I once in a while had to pinch myself in the arm just to see if I was dreaming or not…It was so surreal for me working in that beautiful boutique of Ladurée Bonaparte. Before Ladurée opened their boutique at this spot it belonged to the famous French decorator Madeleine Castaing. Her work was timeless and poetic, she tried to create stories and that’s what signified her style and work. She used to say “There is always beauty in mystery.” – no wonder why the magical spirit and the mysterious ambiance has still remained.

Diabolic from CHANEL

November 23rd, 2010 § 1

CHANEL Diabolic

When I visited Polhem PR in Paris last week they had a nailbar and I was offered a manicure by a guy from Nailfactory. I picked the Diabolic from CHANEL, love that color…and the name ;-) It felt heavenly beeing taken care of even though it was only my nails having a treatment. In Sweden I used to get massage, facial treatments and visited my hairdresser regularly, my life in Paris is far away from the living standards I had in Stockholm, but I’m not complaining ;-)

November 20th, 2010 § 12

This is for all my blogreaders living in Sweden:

Marilyn Monroe on my table

November 18th, 2010 § 2

Marilyn Monroe - Vanity Fair

Marilyn Monroe is on the cover of the latest issue of Vanity Fair and with the latest book about her (Fragments) once again she’s on everybodies lips…the legend..the myth. Who was she really? Beyond the beautiful face and charming personality? For many she was a sex symbol and she got used and abused by people around her. For me she was a talented woman with a BIG heart and all she ever wanted in life was to be loved, for the person she was and not as an object. She was always rejected and even though she was famous and had millions of fans she felt very lonely.

“Dogs never bite me. Just humans.” Marilyn Monroe
