John Varvatos @ Quintessence Playground, February 12th 2011
Last weekend John Varvatos (an American contemporary high fashion menswear designer) from New York came by at Quintessence Playground while I was working. He made a shopping-tour in our store and I also got to meet his wife Joyce Varvatos. I like John Varvatos style, very black and dark colors and his collaboration with All Stars Converse is amazing…love the way they’re designed and touched up to look like they’ve been worn for ages :-)

"Mirrorsite Build" by Andreas Angelidakis
“What we are missing, most of the time, is not the other, but ourselves: doubting our world, and looking for a meaning to life, we sometimes believe we will find it at the other end of the earth, anywhere and almost anyhow. But whoever has truly undertaken this journey – of which art is perhaps the most accomplished form – knows very well that, fundamentally, “elsewhere” is always here, and that others are its closest and most distant face, the first question that makes us want to discover and to construct new worlds”

Dinner on an Italian restaurant just across the street from where I live
It’s really fun having Lisa in Paris :-) Yesterday evening we went to an Italian restaurant, just across the street from where I live and had dinner after the cinema. We talked about everything between heaven and earth and I wondered how it was living in Poland? My friend Lisa is Swedish and her husband is Spanish (and works for Air France), they have been living in Paris for a couple of years but through her husbands job they moved to Warsaw for more than a year ago. She told me about the food, fashion, the society etc and she told me the most bizarr stories about some of their neighbours in their residence…and then we had lots of baby-talk. She and her husband is having a baby soon, they call her Bubble in the meanwhile she’s still inside…and she told me they’re going to teach Bubble three languages in the beginning: English, Swedish and Spanish, me likey :-)

Linda Romanazzi, me and Thierry Lasry @ Le Baron (photo: Jean Picon)
Two weeks ago me and Linda went to Le Baron on a Lolita Lempicka party, they had decorated the club very nice and cozy like a secret garden! I took several photos with my camera Canon G11 that I unfortunately lost at Montana the same evening…..
If I and Thierry are the Queen and King of Montana…then our friend Linda is the Queen of Champagne..that’s for sure ;-) Only God knows how many glasses of champagne we had on our table between the Baron’s that evening….open-bar+Le Baron=dangerous combination!
Had a great time at Le Baron…..me and Linda met our friend Thierry and had fun trying his shades while having Baron‘s and champagne and mingling. It felt weird the Queen and King of Montana were partying at Le Baron so we all took off to Montana instead :-) While I was sitting next to a table @ Montana taking photos with my camera and when I was putting it back in my bag it must have fallen out somewhere close to the table. Since it’s so dark there I didn’t realize I had lost my camera until I was looking for it the morning after :-(
Happy though I found this photo taken by Jean Picon, I’ve already asked him for permission to publish it on my blog and it was ok :-)
Yusuke Kinaka, an artist and photographer working for Vogue Japon also took some photos on me and Linda… but I haven’t found those yet..perhaps later ;-)

@ La Palette with Linda
Two weeks ago I meetup my friend Linda at La Palette for some secret gossiping while sharing a bottle of rosé. I love La Palette, it’s the perfect place for having an after-work..really cozy and no tourists in sight, phew! We shared some secrets…and updated each other about what have happened in our lives since we saw each other the last time (@ Roland Mouret, Murano, GQ-party at Shangri-La and Baron…all those places on the same night). And believe me…MANY things had happened since then….

Snuttis in bed
My friend Lisa arrived to Paris last night, I was so happy to meet her again :-) She’s pregnant and we had a lot of baby-talk and she also introduced me to her cuddly toy Snuttis. Snuttis is a playing cuddly toy that plays a melody and Lisa makes it play the melody every night before going to bed so her baby get used to the melody. When she gives birth to her baby she will have the cuddly toy playing the melody for the baby each night and the baby will recognize the melody from the time she wasn’t even born yet. Cool :-)

Me @ home
Yesterday was quiet beautiful weather, the sun was shining and you could just feel the Spring in the air. Later in the afternoon I went to my friend Jo who lives close to the métro Pereire in 17th. Usually I take the metro..but today I tried to give it a try by having a walk and it only took me 20 minutes from door to door :-) I thought it would take much longer time…can’t believe I used to take the metro before…lazy Solli.
I also had my new Converse All Star on that my friend Hana gave me as a gift when she came back from her 5-week long trip in US 3 months ago. They’re perfect for a walk on the streets in Paris :-)

My new love and partner-in-crime Canon G12
Let me introduce you to my new love and partner-in-crime, mr Canon G12 :-)
This is the gift I receieved for my contribution for the secret project I told you about in my earlier blogpost. I was so happy when I opened the bag and couldn’t believe my eyes. God knows how sad I’ve been since I lost my Canon G11 at Montana, I’ve really missed being able to take photos with a real camera (and not the camera in my Blackberry) so I was incredible happy when I saw it was a Canon G12 in the bag :-)
I’ve already started to take photos with it and I love it! I’ve found a new partner-in-crime and he will follow me everywhere I go, I’ll take him to Montana, Le Baron, Café de Flore, La Palette, fashion shows and all other places I go to in Paris. He’s smiling at me right now and I can tell he can’t wait to follow me on my adventures ;-)

@ Café de Flore, February 2011
Yesterday I went to the office of my friend Christophe, and met him and his friend. They’re working with a top-secret project and they wanted to show me the drafts. I was amazed…I can’t say more because I don’t want to reveal what the project is about. But I’m happy they took the ideas I had contributed with when we’ve met before and I got a very special gift for that contribution. Afterwards we went to Café de Flore and Café Germain for an after-work. Christophe’s friend is going to Stockholm later today, his very first time and he had bought three guide-books about Stockholm, I was impressed! I gave him some addresses on top of that to visit. I’m sure he will enjoy his stay in Stockholm, can’t wait to hear about his experience :-)

Me and my friend Hana, February 2011
When I was in Stockholm last week I stayed at my friends place Hana and her family, they’re like my second family and even though I met them just a couple of days ago I miss them very much already. God knows how much we laugh together and all our wicked stories…..
Her mom is always nice and kind, always listens to my stories from Paris and gives me advices. She always wakes up early in the morning to make me breakfast and I’m always late to my apointments and never have the time to eat the breakfast so she wraps it in plastic and puts it in my bag so I have something to eat on my way…so sweet! While I’m there Hana always make up some plans and takes me to new and hype places and late in the nights we stay with her little brother and makes jokes until late night and we have so many laugh attacks that we hardly can breath afterwards…..Now u know the story…it’s not ONLY to tighten my braces that I go to Stockholm every second month..the truth is that I need my love-injection of Hana and her family aswell ;-)
Even though our time together nowadays only last for a couple of days I’m happy I get to see them several times a year. Love u always!

Elsa Hosk for GUESS
It has been raining non-stop today in Paris…not my type of weather, but I don’t complain, I’m in Paris and I love it. While I was having a walk I saw the beautiful Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk for a GUESS campaign. I guess she brightened up the day for many Parisians by beeing on the back of the bus today ;-)
P.S.I haven’t bought any new camera yet so I’m using my camera in my Blackberry…not the best quality..but still better than no photos at all ;-)
