Jardin du Luxembourg

Jardin du Luxembourg

Jardin du Luxembourg is one of my favourite parks in Paris. Mainly because I used to go there every day when I was living in Odéon (St Germain) for power-walking, picnic with friends or to grab two of the very popular green public chairs to sit on to read a book…. Nowadays I don’t go there much often, maybe twice a week to read a book or just to have a walk around the park..

GROM

@ GROM

The ice-cream at the Italian ice-cream bar GROM is so delicious that I use to go all the way from the 17th arrondissement to the 6th where the one and only GROM in France is located. Last time it was so hot so I went for the refreshing sorbet flavors, Pera ( Comice Pear) and Pompelmo Rosa ( red grapefruit). Delicious as always! While I was sitting there endulging myself with my ice-cream a photographer who was doing a photo-shoot on behalf of GROM for commercial asked if he could take a photo on my ice-cream. So for the first time it was not only me taking photos on my ice-cream ;-)

Bonne nuit Paris!

View from my window....

I’ve always dreamed of living in an apartment with a typical French balcony and I’m happy I’m living in one now. Every morning I use to open up the windows to let new fresh air in and to lighten up the apartment. With a beautiful view over L’Arc de Triomphe I can’t complain….What I like most about the French balconies is the railings in cast iron formed in beautiful ornaments.

Jardin des Tuileries

Swedish summer-heat in Paris (24-26 degrees) and the best way of spending a hot day like that is to visit the beautiful parks in Paris. A couple of days ago I went for a walk in Jardin des Tuileries, a park between Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Along with me I had a fresh made yoghurt ice-cream……

Place de la Concorde

If you want to see several famous Parisian monuments at the same time Place de la Concorde is a perfect place where you have a view that includes the Eiffel Tower, the Obelisk, the rooftop of the Grand Palais and the fountains of Concorde

Triple-love @ GROM, 81 Rue de Seine

The Italian ice-cream bar GROM is one of my favourie one’s in Paris and I’m completely in love with their ice-cream. Last time I went there I made sure to get a triple-love including Crema di Grom, Vaniglia and Pistacchio and on top of that, heavenly delicious panna montata (whipped cream).

Divine food at La Divina Commedia

April 22nd, 2011 § 0

La Divina Commédia

Last week I met my friend Tina and we had dinner at the recently opened Italian restaurant La Divina Commédia. Our friend who is one of the co-owner’s invited us and it was my first time having dinner there. I had carpaccio de coquilles Saint-Jacques (scallops) and a pizza with mozzarella di buffala. I love coquilles Saint-Jacques and I’ve always had them barbecued and it was my first time eating them raw but it was delicious! Thin slices of coquilles Saint-Jacques, some freshly squeezed lemon juice and sprinkled chives on the top of it simply blowed my mind – the perfect combination :-) The pizza was very thin, just like how they’re made in Rome. Most of the pizza’s around the world are made in the Neapolitan way, which means they’re thicker…but I prefer thin pizzas and I’m happy I’ve found a place in Paris where they serve it now :-) I was also very impressed by the interior design of the restaurant. The name of the restaurant, La Divina Commédia comes from Dante‘s epic poem with the same name and that describes Dante‘s travels through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven and that’s what the interior design of the restaurant was based on. There were three levels, the walls downstairs were painted in red (Hell), the walls on mainfloor were painted in white (Purgatory) and the walls on the first floor were painted in white and the floor was painted in light blue with white clouds on it, to symbolize Heaven.

Dinner on a boat in Paris…

Dinner on a friends boat in Paris

Earlier this week me and my friend were invited for dinner on our friends boat. Our friend lives on a big boat on the river Seine and with La Défense in the background. I’ve never lived on a boat but I can imagine its totally different than living in a house or an apartment, no close neighbours and much more peaceful :-) We had a dinner with mozzarella di bufala with sliced tomatoes as starter, barbecued meat as main dish and oranges with cinnamon as dessert, delicious! Had a great evening ending up listening to old school hiphop…..before it was time to leave the boat and its peaceful environment and go back to a noisy Paris.

Madame Grès

Madame Grès

Last week I visited the “Madame Grès” exhibition with my friend. I was completely astonished by the beautiful dresses and sketches that were exposed. I will write more about the exhibition and publish more photos that I took later. In the meanwhile, if you’re in Paris, don’t miss the exhibition ;-)
