Yesterday at my sisters place

my sisters note-book

Yesterday I took the train and went to my sister who lives in Lund for lunch in her apartment. She’s having her last exam today before she’s going to study in Singapore so I checked her on some parts aswell. Later on after I had taken a short nap in her bed we went for a strolling tour outside in a nearby area with beautiful nature.

Pearl of the Ring Lakes

Bosjökloster

Yesterday me and my mom spent the morning by strolling around in the gardens of the white castle, Bosjökloster. The old castle is situated on the peninsula between two lakes and the gardens are filled up with rose-bushes but the season for their blooming was not now but I can imagine how beautiful the garden would have looked like with all the roses….

A trip to Västra Hamnen in Malmoe

May 29th, 2011 § 1

Västra Hamnen

On Friday afternoon me and my sister went to Malmoe and met my mom after her work. We took the bus to Västra Hamnen in Malmoe where Turning Torso is situated and where you have a view on the bridge between Sweden and Denmark. I like how they’ve different kind of architechture design when it comes to the buildings in Västra Hamnen. I wouldn’t mind living in one of those apartments on the photo I snapped above, but the cold temperature prevents me…

Breakfast and Lily of the Valley

May 27th, 2011 § 1

My breakfast this morning

Lately my beakfasts in France have consisted of a croissant and orange juice, pretty typical French ;-) This morning my mom had bought soured milk (which is typical Swedish) for me, since she knows I love it, so I had soured milk with sliced bananas, toast with cheese and a glass of blueberry juice. It’s the season of Lily of the Valley so my mom has decorated all her house with beautiful bouquets of these flowers with their adorable scent…..

Meeting my sister in Lund while having a baked potatoe with salad

Yesterday night I decided to go back to Sweden so I bought a ticket and this afternoon I arrived in Lund, a city in south of Sweden where my sister lives and studies. She’s going to study in Singapore for a year and she is leaving soon so now I’ll get the chance to spend some quality time with her before she leaves :-)

Runners in Jardin des Tuileries

Jardin des Tuileries

Last evening when I had finished my French class I continued to walk through the Jardin des Tuileries instead of being lazy by taking the metro. It was past nine and still hot outside and I preferred enjoying the magical sunset.

A filmteam shooting a movie in Paris

Yesterday evening when I had finished my French class I stepped right out to an ongoing shooting of a movie. In a narrow sidestreet behind the department store La Samaritaine a filmteam where shooting a movie and it looked magical with the spotlights, the fake rain they had created and the handsome actor in the middle, a French one probably. A pretty usual scene to bump into a shooting here in Paris, the city of magic ;-)

Vintage metal chairs

vintage metal chairs

We buy many beautiful things to the gallery where I work at, Quintessence Playground, but it’s not often I share the photos on them with my readers but this time I will! Not long ago we bought a large lot of vintage metal chairs in many different colors. I can imagine they have been used in outdoor restaurants and café‘s in Bali where they originally come from. I like the way they have been “aging” by color that partly have faded away and the bumps on each chair that makes them unique and charming. My preferable ones are the chairs in turquoise because the color reminds me of oceans with crystal clear water :-)

The Ritz Bar

@ The Ritz Bar in Paris

Last week I meetup my dear friend Jo at the Ritz Bar. Seated in red-velvet armchairs inspired from the Victorian Era, electro music in the background and drinks on or table we had some girl-talk till late night :-)

Next time I go to Ritz I will try the Hemingway Bar where Ernest Hemingway, Marcel Proust and Scott Fitzgerald once upon a time used hang around at and it was also there where Bloody Mary was invented, for Hemingway! A pretty intresting story behind the drink that I’ll write about later ;-) The Hemingway bar has been ranked as the best bar in the world by Forbes magazine so it’s definately worth to discover and I have to try their Bloody Mary ;-)

Triple-love @ Amorino

Earlier today I met my friend Christine. She’s back in Paris (she lives in Sweden) for a internship and she’s going to spend the whole summer here aswell. I had been pretty occupied since she came but finally today I had some free time and suggested to meetup. Since it was pretty hot we went for ice cream at the Italian ice-cream bar Amorino :-) We updated each other about our lives and she also told me more about her internship that sounded very intresting. Hope we’ll see each other soon again :-)

Quintessence Playground in ELLE

ELLE Décoration N°200

Finally the French ELLE Décoration (N°200) has been released with the reportage about Quintessence Playground, where I work on the week-ends :-) I wrote about it in March that a team came from ELLE Décoration and that I later also took photos on Ludovic Messager (owner of the gallery and interior designer and antiques-dealer) for the reportage. You can find the reportage on the pages 96-101, six pages with photos and information about the gallery. If you live in Paris you should definately come by and visit the gallery @ 3 Rue Paul Bert in Saint-Ouen. Me, I’m working in the gallery @ 14 Rue Paul Bert.

Midnight in Paris

May 17th, 2011 § 0

Midnight in Paris

Paris in the morning is beautiful. Paris in the afternoon is charming. Paris in the evening is enchanting. But Paris after midnight ……is MAGIC!

I’m not a big fan of Woody Allens movies but I liked “Vicky Christina Barcelona” and yesterday I went and saw “Midnight in Paris” , a movie I’ve been waiting to see since last summer when I heard about their shootings in Paris :-)

The movie was pure magic! Can’t imagne someone else doing it better where F.Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Gertrude Stein, Cole Porter are all in the same movie. Woody Allen really managed to pick up all the beauty of Paris in this movie and once again I felt lucky I’m living in this magical city.

The movie was funny and very entertaining and I loved it even though the ending was a bit abrupt.
