Barbeque in the garden x2

Ile de Ré

Yet another barbeque in the garden by mr L’s father. He had made his home-made mayonnaise (very delicious!) and he served it aside shrimps and langoustines that we had as starter. The maincourse was sole fish that he barbequed and that we had with potatoes and his home-made sauce…I enjoyed everything to the fullest and I’m sure that if mr L’s father was a chef on a restaurant the restaurant would have been packed every single day, that is how delicious his food is :-)

Taxi Brousse

@ Le Taxi Brousse

The restaurant where we had the birthday dinner is named Le Taxi Brousse (the Jungle Taxi) and situated in the north of the island of Ré. The open-air restaurant with a private pool and sand dunes with tables and chairs in wood had a very cosy atmosphere and I really liked it. We had mussles and shrimp and avacado salad as starter (the mussles were to die for!) and me I had cod fish as main course. They had many different desserts and I chose fried peaches with cinnamon and vanilla ice cream and it turned out to be a delicate choice. I’ve never tried the combination of peaches and cinnamon but it’s a winning combination and I’ll definately try to do this dessert at home ;-)

Beautiful sunset

On our way to mr L’s birthday dinner on a restaurant I snapped some photos on the beautiful sunset. While driving from the south of the island to the north where the restaurant was we enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of the island while listening to Stevie Wonders album “The Definite Collection”.

Barbeque in the garden

Mr L’s dad and me definately shares one passion and that is food! Each day he either made us lunch or dinner at home and his food was 10 times better than the food they serve on restaurants. On the day these photos were taken he made some barbeque in his and his wifes lovely the garden. And we also had one cute guest who came just in time, mr Lizzy ;-)

Delicious ice cream from L'Atelier (La Martinière)

After our lunch at La Poissonnerie we had delicious ice cream from L’Atelier (just in front of the restaurant). L’Atelier serves home made ice cream made on the island from the ice cream maker La Martinière.

Having delicious Sole fish at La Poissonnerie on l'île de Ré

The first day I arrived to l’île de Ré mr L’s dad took us to a restaurant just next to the harbour at La Flotte (an area on the island of Rhé) called La Poissonnerie. He knew since last time I was there that I love fish and seafood and at this restaurant the serve fresh and newly caught fish, the finest you can find. I had a delicious Sole fish with mashed potatoes on the side and a slice of lemon and butter.

Ile de Ré

Now I’m at Ile de Ré (the isle of Rhé). I’ve been here one time before and it’s a very beautiful island. It’s situated on the west coast of France, it takes 3 hours by train to go there from Paris and they have almost the same amount of hours of sunshine as in south of France. It’s a real paradise out here and if you visit France you should definately go here for a weekend ;-)

@ Västra Hamnen (West Harbour in Malmoe)

Today me, my mom and my sister spent our day in a sunny Västra Hamnen in Malmoe. We had ice cream and sat next to the sea and enjoying our time together :-) Soon my sister leaves for a year to study in Singapore and I will miss her very, very much!

Delicious food made by my friend Hana

Have I mentioned that my friend Hana makes the best Ceasarsalad I’ve ever tried? Each time I visit her and her family in Stockholm she spoils me with her home-made Ceasarsalad and this time she also made a delicious sweet potatoe soup, pasta with creamy salmon and saffron sauce and frutti del mare, merci ma belle!

Ferrari in matte

I noticed the trend with cars in matte in Stockholm aswell when I was there. I spotted this beauty, a Ferrari in matte, outside Grand Hotel. Funny though that the owner put the word CRY on the license plate…when there are so many other words to choose from…
