Yesterday I went to Barbara Bui’s fashionshow @ Le Ritz. The first thing that caught my attention from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection were the sandals! Beautiful! Noticable trends for the clothing: colors:black, yellow and white, material: leather and snakeskin…I let the photos talk for themselves ;-)

Ready to discover the trends I noticed at Maison & Objet that I went to in Paris last week? Here we go:

vintage
patchwork
industrial - still an on-going trend, but more mixed with wood and leather for a warmer ambiance
animals -in all kind of materials such as porcelain, wood, wallpapers, cardboard etc…
recycled wood – in products such as frames, tables etc
paisley – printed paisley on pillows, bedlinen etc
knits
burlap – puffs, bags, armchairs etc made with burlap
silver
sustainable design
kilim – the traditional Persian rug using the kilim technique is a HOT trend! You can find the pattern technique on pillows, armchairs etc
reclaimed furnitures – furnitures made by recycled wood, vintage materials, recycled glass and other recycled materials

Maison & Objet is an important international industry event for interior design and decoration at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center. It offers a unique opportunity to gain an overview of the trends in decoration, furniture, home furnishings. The event is held twice a year (in January and September) and this time there were more than 3,000 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors….

Having dinner @ Le Petit Marché

Le Petit Marché is like a hidden peal in Le Marais. I love this charming restaurant that is situated close to the place de Vosges. Ever since the first time I went there (last year) I order the gambas as a starter. They are delicious! Crispy and tender and I love to dip them into the sweet-n-sour chili sauce that comes in a small bowl. Last week I had the codfish as main course and steamed pears with chocolate….

Make sure to reserve a table in advance, the waiting lines are sometimes pretty long ;-)

Mama knows how to make delicious desserts at Mama Shelter ;-) Last week when I was there with a friend I had a heavy dessert that consisted of chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce and lots of whipped cream! And my friend had vanilla ice cream with hot fudge….yummie!
