This is were me and my sister stayed when we were on Boracay, the Island Jewel Inn. I had found it through TripAdvisor, many people had recommended it and it was also situated close to the White beach (1 minute walk). When we just arrived they had made us a big welcome sign at the reception where they had written our names and we were offered a welcome drink, a delicious freshly made fruitjuice. That really made us feel welcomed and all of the staff were very helpful, polite and service minded. We had a bathroom with hot and cold water, A/C in the room and a safety box. The room was cleaned every day and our towels were changed daily. The White Beach is divided into 3 boatstations, the Island Jewel Inn is situated on boatstation 3, the most peaceful and calm area of the beach. The clubs are situated at boatstation 1 and the shopping district with the mall is at boat station 2….and since me and my sister were looking forward to relax we chose to stay on a hotel in that area. We were very pleased with our choice and if I will go to Boracay a second time I will definately stay at Island Jewel Inn :-)

Raffle’s Hotel Singapore
January 20th, 2012 § 0
On one of my last days in Singapore and while my sister and dad were in Malaysia, I went alone…accompanied with my book “One Day” to the Raffles Hotel to try the famous cocktail “Singapore Sling” where it was created a long time ago.
Raffles Hotels & Resorts is a luxury international hotel company and they opened their first hotel in Singapore (Raffles Hotel) in 1887. They have hotels in a few countries and in Paris it’s the award winning Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris. It recieved the Condé Nast Traveler 2012 and is recognized as one of the world’s Best Hotels for Ambience and Design.
The Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore is where the cocktail Singapore Sling was created in 1915 by Hainaese-Chinese bartender Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon.
There are now also a Spring Sling, Summer Sling, Winter Sling, Autumn Sling, Tropical Sling and a Courtyard Sling apart from the Original Singapore Sling.
When I was there, first of all I didn’t had a seat in the Long Bar (where the cocktail was created), it was too dark and too crowded with tourists…instead I went to the courtyard that had a more peaceful and relaxed ambiance and where I at the same time could enjoy the beautiful weather.
I had a Original Singapore Sling which consists of the following:
30 ml Gin
15 ml Cherry Heering
7,5 ml Dom Benedictine
7,5 Cointreau
120 ml Sarawak Pineapple Juice
15 ml Lime Juice
10 ml Grenadine
A dash of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a slice of Pinapple and Cherry
I was so excited about having my cocktail so I totally forgot about telling the bartender to put as little as alcohol possible because I had not been drinking any kind of alcohol for several months…
The cocktail was great, perfect blend of fruity and sour…but a bit too much alcohol for me so I couldn’t even finish it.

VOGUE Le Bar
October 26th, 2011 § 0
It was not easy running around with high-heels and carrying a super-duper heavy bag with my camera between the fashionshows during the fashionweek…. That’s why it was great that Vogue had created a space at Hôtel Crillon where you could go for a drink while relaxing. Me and my friend Vanessa went there to recharge our batteries before we set off again ;-)

My last photos from Lydmar Hotel in Stockholm ;-) The reasons why I enjoyed my time so much when I was there was the layed-back atmosphere, the service minded staff, the interior (it was like walking into a livingroom at the restaurant, cozy leather armchairs, a beautiful Chesterfield, consoles with tiles of books, candles everywhere etc And not only that, the most important thing..the food was delicious ;-)

Dinner @ Lydmar Hotel

Lydmar Hotel in Stockholm is really the place to be while you’re in Stockholm! I remember when I used to have cocktails at Lydmar Hotel when it was situated at Sturegatan years ago but now you can find the hotel almost next to Grand Hotel in a new building. Me and my friend had dinners and cocktails almost everyday when I was there in July…..why? The food was delicious, the cocktails amazing, the staff were friendly and very service minded and the interior was…astonishing. It is a 5-star hotel with a lifestyle-concept interior that I totally fell in love with. Tiles of books in the restaurants, beautiful Chesterfields and bookshelves contaings books, globes, skulls and other curiosites…just like in a livingroom and that’s why I felt at home immediately :-)
They day these photos were taken I had fois gras as starter, Saint Jacques as mainplate and a pavlova as dessert ;-)

While I was in Stockholm I tried out the hotel STORY HOTEL. The hotel with an urban design and beautiful art on the walls is situated in the heart of Stockholm and is a great place to stay at or to socialize in their bar. Their DJ was awesome those nights I was there with my friend and their cocktails where delicious :-)

Mojitos @ Nobis Hotel in Stockholm
February 18th, 2011 § 0
After having tons of sushi at Råkultur me and Hana continued our evening by going to Nobis Hotel, a recently new-opened 5-star contemporary luxury hotel in Stockholm. Nobis-Hotel recived the Golden Dragon prize (Gulddraken) 2011 and since my friend Hana knows all about what’s hot and not in Stockholm she wanted me to discover this new place. We went to the golden bar where we had mojito‘s and gossiped to late night. Miss u Hana!
GQ private party at Shangri-La
January 20th, 2011 § 1
Last night me, Jo, Linda & co continued our hardcore party by going to GQ Magazine‘s private party held at the recently opened Shangri-La Hotel in Paris. The former home of Prince Roland Bonaparte, built in 1896, was now turned into a luxurious hotel and it was hard not to feel at home ;-) They also have a signature cocktail, the Pink Lady, that I have to try next time I’m there. Last night I “only” had several glasses of Champagne Piper Heidsieck Brut and lot’s of chocolate…while mingling with French celebrities and fashion people…
