Tehuset Java in Lund

I prefer tea than coffee and Tehuset Java in Lund is where I go when I’m buying tea. They’ve got tea from all different kind of brands (Kusmi etc) and also their own brand.

Västra Hamnen

Västra Hamnen

In the area where the Turning Torso is located (Västra Hamnen in Malmoe) you’ll find buildings with very intresting architechture.  It’s like a small village with it’s small harbour and in 2001, when the majority of the buildings that are located there where built, many different architects created a diversity of architecture…very futuristic but personally I prefer the Haussmanian buildings in Paris <3

Bengtsons Ost

Swedish cheese @ Bengtsons Ost, Klostergatan 9 Lund

Swedish cheese differs from the French ones so I introduced my French friend Amélie to the Swedish cheese assortiment ;-) We went to Bengtsons Ost (Klostergatan 9 in Lund) where they have a large assortiment of both Swedish cheese but also from France and Spain. Amélie was impressed and she also learned a new word, ost (cheese in Swedish) ;-)

Hot chocolate in Villiers…

January 11th, 2011 § 0

This morning I met Christine for a hot chocolate in her neighbourhood Villiers. Happy to meet her before she was leaving to Sweden. We can never have enough of girlstalk can we? Christine is lucky, she’s having a French boyfriend in Paris and she’s studying in Sweden so she’s travelling between these countries almost every second month and is having the best part of them both :-)

Sweden vs. France

January 9th, 2011 § 3

Sweden or France? Or both of them?

When I was at my moms in Sweden she tried to convince me (as always) to move back to Sweden. And now when my dad is here for a couple of days he has tried to do the same. I do understand them, life is much better and easier in all kind of aspects in Sweden. I wouldn’t have any problem finding a great and well paid job AND I also have my own apartment, right in the middle of Stockholm…. Maybe I will do that later, in the future when I’m ready to settle down. But for now I’m still hungry for challenges and as my dad says, that I always look for complicated things. And that’s right and I think that’s what scared me in Sweden, I had everything at the age of 27…I was just not ready for that kind of life. I want to explore…meet challenges and living on the edge, a little bit more ;-) And Paris is the perfect city for that, believe me ;-)

A Christmas Carol

December 31st, 2010 § 1

Lund, December 2010

The other day while I was at my sister who lives in Lund we went to the cinema, while walking through the town I took some photos, trying to capture the mysterious and magical ambiance the darkness in combination with the low lights created. For a moment it felt like walking through the streets in Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, it was almost dead empty on the streets and it feelt like the ghost from the Carol could pop up in any second…

Happy Birthday to me :-)

December 11th, 2010 § 8

Happy Birthday! Joyeux Anniversaire! Grattis på födelsedagen! Well, it’s my birthday today and I’m turning 29 (!!!!). I really don’t like getting older but that’s just a natural part of life. This will be my first time spending my birthday in Paris. Unfortunatly I won’t be able to celebrate it like I would have done in Sweden, inviting my closest friend for some homemade cakes and cookies and I’m acctually sad I’m not in Sweden right now. I miss my family and friends very much, not having them around here is not always easy, but they’re always in my mind and in my heart and in that way we’re closer than ever. I have a few close friends in Paris too and I wish I could have done something special today with them but my day is filled up with several rendez-vous at different studios and I hope I will get to sign a contract soon, that would have been the best birthday gift ever :-)

A typical French dinner

December 3rd, 2010 § 2

A box with macarons from Ladurée Bonaparte

Last evening I was invited for dinner at my neighbours, a French family with two children that lives nextdoor’s. They have been so nice and kind to me ever since I moved in here and I think it’s too bad I’m leaving soon, having neighbours like them is very rare, unfortunately.

We had a typical French dinner à la 7 courses and we started with an apértif around 9pm ( I LOVE the fact that the French people have their dinners that late in the evening!). The second course was l’entrée (appetizer) which consisted of beef carpacio and different kind of vegetables. Le Plat Principal (main course) was a delicious “pot-au-feu” that the wife had made. After the main course the cheese board entered ;-)  Le fromage, different kind of French cheese was served on a board accompanied with baguette and red wine. As a dessert the wife had made an apple-pie that just blowed my mind!! She promised me to give me the recepie and I’m so happy about that :-) After the dessert we sat down in the living room and we had a small cup of coffee, le Café, and we had macarons from the box of macarons that I had brought with me as a small gift. And we’re not done there, the 7th “course” was le digestif strong alcohol served to aid digestion. I had some génépi, a general French term for several Alpine plants and the liqueurs made out of them.

In the beginning of the evening they asked me why I moved to Paris from Sweden? In the end of the evening, after all my talking about how much I loved the “French cuisine” and about my “eating” through Paris they never doubted my answer. Une vraie gourmande, oui, c’est moi! I think I just made clear WHY I LOVE FRANCE ;-)
